Log #9: Slow progress

It feels like this past week has been a bit of a wash. That’s not entirely true – I made progress on the info product. But boredom is creeping in and I’m finding I’m getting more distracted. It’s tedious working through the first draft. Boredom gets me thinking about potential projects though, so I kind of like that.

My self-imposed deadline at the end of April feels like it’s looming and I’m getting a little nervous I won’t hit it. That’s probably good though, it means I need to find a little more time and work a little harder.

The main issue this week has been third parties disapointing me.

Progress on the info product’s cover stalled completely. The artist didn’t reply to me all week. I asked them how things were going on Friday and they said they’re busy with other clients, so I’m still waiting on the revision.

I don’t really like messaging freelancers saying “Hey how are things going? I haven’t heard from you in a while”. Maybe that’s because I don’t leave my clients in the same situation? If one of my clients ever sends me a message like that, I’m not doing a good job.

And then the desk chair that was supposed to arrive? It technically turned up, but the box was so battered that I had to refuse to accept it and return it to sender – it looked like it had been hit by the truck it arrived in. So that was annoying. I’ve been told they’ll send me a new chair. So hopefully it’ll arrive this week?
