Log #31: One of the weeks of the year.

It’s not been a bad week. I put together a nice newsletter in maybe the shortest amount of time ever (as far as I can remember), so I’m pleased with that. Unfortunately, it hasn’t performed as well as the last few newsletters in terms of opens. I should have worked on the title more.

Since I had some free time I originally scheduled for newsletter work, I ended up doing some work on my development scripts to improve workflows with gum and just, and it’s made things much nicer (and fun).

I’ve been thinking a lot about workflows since I started properly using a tiling window manager and it feels like I’m finding something that is more productive and more fun to use. Having tools you want to use is a great way to remove barriers to doing productive work. Spending time tinkering with your setup isn’t always a waste of time.

No log next week – I’m taking a much needed vacation.
