Log #26: Soft launch
I made it. I published the ebook on July 31st and it’s available to buy.
The last week was hectic.
The Delivery Ravens migration was smoother than expected, so that gave me more confidence. I’ve got a few bits to do to complete the migration and shut down, so they’re on the TODO list.
But the content itself was tough to finish. I struggled to make progress - I was distracted, tired, and stressing. Thankfully, I managed to chip away on bits and pieces (and cut more scope) to complete V1.0.0 in time. I’m 100% going to be updating and editing it again in the future, but it’s a good V1. The scope cut might be a blessing in the long term since it means future updates will be more valuable.
The product page wasn’t that bad either, at least for the first version. Again, I’ll be making changes in the future, but for now I’m happy enough.
I haven’t yet ‘announced’ the ebook. This was definitely a soft launch in order to hit my deadline and to stop me from pushing the project even further down the road. People can find it if they visit the shop page on the site, but it’s not super visible otherwise, so I don’t expect any movement until I actually announce it and do some marketing.
The announcement is the next step. I’m in need of a break, but I still have some momentum, so I’m going to keep going. I’m dropping my hours on the work back to normal though, so that’s something.
My TODO list is still packed.
