Boomer entrepreneur biographies
I’ve read enough boomer entrepreneur biographies now to notice they’re all roughly the same book with a different name on the cover.
- dad was in the army
- married mother during the war
- parents had three kids, two boys and a girl
- ‘modest’ upbringing
- ‘didn’t have much’ - few toys, maybe a TV
- both parents had a car and a larger-than-average house
- went to private school somehow (mother knew the headmaster)
- spent summers at the family beach house
- got into one of the best universities in the world, for free
- met their spouse there, married quickly
- graduated or dropped out
- had kids of their own
- started a business
- a wealthy mentor invested and advised
- there were some struggles, but the market was booming anyway
- parents’ connections helped too
- everything worked out
- became one of the richest people in the world
I could tell you whose biography this is, but you’d probably guess wrong.
